House Peter Jr.

Lake Tahoe has a lot to offer.  Hiking, biking, skiing, kayaking, snow skiing, water skiing, and the list goes on and on.  What a lot of visitors don’t know is that Lake Tahoe is also home to a whole bunch of celebrities and professional athletes.

Famous neighbors include and have included Charles Bronson, Cher, Natalie Cole, Sammy Davis Jr., Liza Minelli, Wayne Newton and the Captain and Tennile. A less known famous person from Tahoe is Mr. Clean.  That’s right, the original Mr. Clean, aka House Peters Jr., lived on the South Shore and worked at Bills Casino until his death in 2008, he was 92.

Some of the famous athletes from Tahoe include Wisi Betschart – was on the US ski team for ten years, Travis Cabral - crowned U.S. Freestyle Champion at nationals and won the overall World Cup, the youngest to ever accomplish that feat.  He also went to the Torino Winter Games.  Jamie Anderson – currently ranked the No. 1 female snowboarder in the world and her sister Joanie Anderson is aiming for the X Games next month.  The list goes on and on.

If you visit any casino around the lake there’s a pretty good chance you’ll see someone famous wether they live here or are just visiting.  Keep your eyes open.
